Enterprise Architect


Job Description:

Provide enterprise architecture development and review support to FAA Terminal, Enroute, Traffic Flow Management, or research environments associated with NAS modernization initiatives including the integration of new and emerging concepts and technologies.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Support enterprise architecture assessments and development; system architecture definition; functional analysis; and requirements development and management for ATM modernization or NextGen initiative programs, including UAS integration
  • Analyze and document current FAA Enterprise Architecture (EA) environment to detect deficiencies or discontinuities and recommend solutions for improvements to the “as-is” FAA architecture in relation to the NAS and Non-NAS requirements
  • Apply Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) and FAA EA architecture life-cycle standards and policies to plan, research, design, and implement elements of EA concepts to improve “to-be” FAA architecture solutions for emerging concepts and technologies
  • Develop, review, and make recommendations for EA elements related to air traffic control and air traffic management automation and decision support systems
  • Support FAA and contractor teams working on the FAA EA
  • Review system documentation
  • Develop technical presentations
  • Coordinate with other FAA programs and stakeholders involved in the implementation of new capabilities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Federal Enterprise Architecture and FAA EA architecture standards
  • Experience analyzing, developing, and making recommendations to improve EA solutions
  • Knowledge and expertise integrating customer requirements and needs into enterprise services
  • Experience with Unmanned Aviation Systems (UAS) preferred
  • Experience with FAA automation and decision support systems (e.g., ERAM, ARTS/STARS, TFMS, TBFM, TFDM, SWIM) preferred
  • Detail oriented, independent, self-motivated, and a proactive team member
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills effective with operational, technical, and senior management audiences
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Math, Science, or IT is required

Travel:

Project related travel, trade shows, and technical conferences as required
