Mid-level SWIM Engineer


Job Description:
Provide engineering expertise to the Federal Aviation Administration’s System Wide Information Management (SWIM) Terminal Data Distribution System (STDDS) program.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Configuration Management (CM) Support – Perform the Program office’s CM activities such as the In-Service Review checklist, NAS Change Proposals, NAS Data Release Board process, Operational Integration Board process, and Safety Risk Management process
    • Project Reporting – Perform regularly scheduled and ad-hoc program reporting to the FAA including project accomplishments, schedules, and levels of effort
    • Program Support – Host and coordinate weekly team meetings, track actions, develop program briefings, manage website content, manage user communication, and Manage NSRR (SWIM governance) content
    • Documentation Support – Develop and publish meeting minutes, site availability files, and support the development and review of requirements documents
    • User Support – Provide 3rd level engineering support to users as needed
    • Requirements and Analytic Support – Support team members on data/requirements analyses

Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
    • Experience supporting FAA/NAS Systems
    • Experience supporting engineering projects
    • Experience with FAA Enterprise Architecture artifacts preferred
    • Detail oriented, independent, self-motivated, and a proactive team member
    • Strong writing and oral communication; comfortable briefing senior managers
    • US Citizenship required
    • Washington, DC based

Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics

Travel:

    • Project related travel, trade shows, and technical conferences as required
